Job Description

Ever wondered what it actually takes to build a vehicle that saves lives? Do you want engineering experience that goes past textbooks and into a real production line? Are you the type who sees an inefficient process and can't help but think of three ways to fix it? Curious what it's like to work alongside manufacturing engineers on real problems with real consequences? Ready to trade a classroom for a shop floor and see if this career path is actually for you? If this sounds like you, then we need to talk... Frazer builds the emergency medical vehicles and mobile healthcare units that first responders and healthcare workers depend on around the world. As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you'll get real hands-on exposure to how production processes actually get built, improved, and documented, not just how they're described in a textbook. This role matters because the improvements you help identify make it easier and safer for our production teams to build vehicles that save lives. What Does a Week in the Life of the Manufacturing Engineer Intern Look Like? Walks the production floor observing fabrication and assembly workflows firsthand Digs into process data to spot where time, material, or quality is being lost Sits in on design and process review meetings with engineers and quality staff Updates work instructions and CAD layouts so documentation matches the current process Troubleshoots an equipment issue alongside a production technician Enters and checks routings in the MES/ERP system for accuracy Helps test a new fixture or tool before it goes into full production use Documents findings from a root cause analysis session with the engineering team
Required Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field Junior or Senior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Some exposure to CAD software through coursework or projects
Preferred Education and Experience:
Prior internship or project experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts Familiarity with ERP/MES systems or basic metal fabrication processes Skills (to Pay the Bills) Here's a list of a few competencies that the Manufacturing Engineer Intern at Frazer should have… You're analytical to the core and want data to back up your ideas before you act on them You're comfortable getting your hands dirty and learning by doing, not just by reading You communicate clearly, whether you're writing a work instruction or explaining a problem to an engineer You're organized enough to keep documentation accurate and up to date under real deadlines You take ownership of your work and follow through without needing to be chased down You care about safety and treat it as part of the job, not an obstacle to it Why Frazer? Frazer is a fast-paced, direct, no-nonsense place to work, where honesty and accountability matter more than polish and titles. As an intern here, you won't be fetching coffee or shadowing from a distance, you'll be doing real work that feeds into real production decisions, working alongside engineers and technicians who expect you to contribute and who will teach you plenty in return. What's in it for you: Pay between $18.00 - $21.00 per hour hourly, plus weekly paycheck — so you get paid every Friday 401k with company match, health, dental, and disability coverage Paid Time Off accruing from day one, 10 paid holidays, and company shutdown Christmas through New Year's On-site micromarket, flexible schedules, and a real work-life balance Professional development, skills training, and free financial wellness classes A culture built on honesty, accountability, and continuous improvement — not politics Salary Range $18.00 - $21.00 per hour Depending on education, certifications, and experience.
