full-time A rapidly growing advanced manufacturing and energy technology company is seeking a Manufacturing CAD/CAM Specialist/Engineer to support the design and development of a first-of-its-kind manufacturing facility. This individual will play a critical role in translating manufacturing, automation, and industrial engineering concepts into detailed technical drawings and 3D models that support facility construction, equipment integration, supplier collaboration, and long-term operational scalability. The successful candidate will help establish the digital foundation for a highly automated production environment, partnering closely with engineering, operations, system integrators, and external stakeholders throughout facility design and deployment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models supporting factory layouts, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and utility interfaces. Convert manufacturing engineering concepts into detailed drawings suitable for EPC firms, architects, equipment suppliers, and system integrators. Support the development of modular and scalable manufacturing facilities optimized for automation, robotics, and digital twin integration. Create and manage equipment footprints, production line layouts, elevations, utility interface drawings, and material flow models. Establish and maintain CAD/CAM standards, file structures, and drawing methodologies to support cross-functional collaboration. Manage drawing revisions, engineering change documentation, and configuration control throughout the facility design lifecycle. Support digital twin initiatives by ensuring alignment between CAD models, simulation environments, and manufacturing execution systems. Prepare technical drawing packages and visual documentation for design reviews, executive presentations, permitting activities, and third-party engineering evaluations. Ensure designs comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, automation teams, operations, and external partners to resolve design and integration challenges. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in CAD drafting, design engineering, or facility design within manufacturing, industrial, automation, or production environments. Experience supporting factory layouts, production line development, equipment integration, or industrial facility projects. Advanced proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, or similar tools. Experience creating and managing 3D factory models and industrial layouts. Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, material handling equipment, and manufacturing processes. Experience coordinating with EPC firms, engineering consultants, equipment vendors, or system integrators. Strong documentation discipline, configuration management, and revision control experience. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, Drafting, or a related technical field. Experience supporting greenfield manufacturing facilities or large-scale factory expansions. Familiarity with digital twin technologies, MES systems, simulation tools, or Industry 4.0 initiatives. Experience within battery manufacturing, energy storage, automotive, electronics, industrial equipment, semiconductors, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
