Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing organization, is looking for an Design Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary product development efforts in McKinney, Tx! About the Role The Design Engineering Manager is responsible for guiding and leading the engineering team in the development of new products/technologies, providing engineering support of existing products and supporting the product management, operations and sales organizations. What you'll do Product Development Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams. Collaborate with product managers, sales, business development, systems engineering, and customers to define product requirements. Plan, organize, and prioritize engineering activities. Drive detailed product designs from concept through production. Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Maintain thorough engineering documentation. Manage engineering resources and adjust staffing to meet project timelines. Assign engineering work based on company priorities. Partner with executives, PLM, and sales to drive technology innovation and product strategy. Oversee engineering department personnel, including coaching, mentoring, team building, and employee development. Engineering Support to Sales & Product Management Ensure engineering provides technical support to sales and product management. Support proposal development and customer quoting activities. Provide technical guidance to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and sales teams. Oversee product configuration management and promote best CM practices. Ensure compliance with AS9100 design process requirements. Engineering Support to Manufacturing & Operations Support the design of manufacturing tools and processes for new products. Resolve manufacturing and procurement issues related to product design. Provide engineering support during new product introductions into manufacturing. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field. 5+ years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams. Proven experience leading new product development from concept through production. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly documentation. Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar. Strong knowledge of
AS9100, PLM
systems, configuration management, and engineering change processes. Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required for ITAR compliance).
Pay:
$130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
