POSITION TYPE

Temporary Full-Time | 6-Month Assignment This position is intended for students, recent graduates, or early-career engineers seeking hands-on experience in a manufacturing and aerospace environment. The assignment provides exposure to real engineering projects, process improvement initiatives, and day-to-day production support while working alongside experienced engineering professionals.

POSITION PURPOSE PPI

is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Engineer or Engineering Intern to support manufacturing and operations through hands-on engineering projects. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers while developing skills in manufacturing, process improvement, product development, and project execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIED

Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations teams on manufacturing and improvement projects. Assist with the design and implementation of production processes, tooling, and product improvements. Collect and analyze data, document results, and support project reporting. Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities. Develop work instructions, process documentation, and technical presentations. Support quality, safety, and productivity initiatives throughout the facility. Present ideas and recommendations to team members and leadership as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Currently pursuing or recently completing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Candidates pursuing technical certifications, manufacturing technology programs, CNC programming coursework, or machinist training programs may also be considered. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. U.S. Citizenship required in accordance with ITAR regulations.

PREFERRED

Internship, co-op, capstone, laboratory, or hands-on technical project experience. Basic knowledge of manufacturing, machining, or production environments. Ability to read engineering drawings and familiarity with GD&T. Experience with CAD software and/or CAM software such as Mastercam. Interest in aerospace manufacturing and continuous improvement.

TYPICAL PROBLEM SOLVING

Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed and complicated written or oral instructions. Deals with problems involving many variables in sometimes difficult and stressful situations.

Examples include:

resolving staff conflicts, dealing with sometimes irate and impatient users, and managing many simultaneous high priority projects and user requests.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Enrolled in an aerospace or mechanical engineering program
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written, verbal, reading and interpersonal communication skills

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

• Excellent computer skills. Ability to analyze situations, research problems and answers, and present solutions to co-workers.
• Experience working effectively with people at all levels within an organization.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
