We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support daily factory operations, improve production processes, and help drive operational excellence across the organization. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource for the production floor, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to resolve manufacturing challenges, improve documentation, and implement sustainable process improvements. As Algas-SDI's first dedicated Manufacturing Engineer, this position offers a unique opportunity to help shape and strengthen our manufacturing systems and processes. What You'll Do Serve as a primary technical resource and escalation point for Team Leaders and Production Managers on manufacturing and engineering-related issues. Work directly with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, bills of materials, and product requirements to support production decisions. Manage and support Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Notice (ECR/ECN) processes to ensure changes are reviewed, approved, communicated, and implemented accurately. Create, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, visual aids, routings, process documentation, BOM clarifications, and standardized work. Partner with Design and Engineering teams to clarify design intent and identify opportunities to improve design for manufacturability and production efficiency. Collaborate with Quality on non-conformances, defect investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and root cause analysis. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving quality, throughput, efficiency, safety, and cost. Analyze recurring production issues and manufacturing data to identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and other production inefficiencies. Support the development and improvement of tooling, fixtures, equipment, facility upgrades, and long-term manufacturing capabilities. Participate in daily Operations floor walks to identify production barriers and help implement practical solutions. Support the implementation and training of new or updated manufacturing processes and work instructions. Help foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration throughout the organization. Perform other operational and technical duties as assigned. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline. 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial engineering environment. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and technical documentation. Experience supporting or managing engineering change processes, including ECR/ECN or ECO workflows. Experience troubleshooting manufacturing or production issues and applying structured root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, or similar methodologies. Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process documentation, routings, and BOMs. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and CAD software. Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear, practical guidance for production teams. Ability and willingness to work regularly on the production floor and build strong relationships with employees across Operations, Engineering, and Quality. Familiarity withISO 9001
