MANUFACTURING ENGINEER 2

(SAFETY FOCUS) Summary of the

Position:

Under direct supervision, the Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer supports safe, efficient production of new and existing Parker products within a single facility by assisting with the design, implementation, and review of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment. We are launching a newly formed team within EMFD focused exclusively on improving safety across production environments. This team will include mechanical engineers, controls engineers, and maintenance mechanics working together to identify, prioritize, and mitigate hazards for production. The role helps evaluate and improve manufacturing techniques, tests new systems and methods to increase efficiency and consistency and supports planning and optimizing assembly layouts to improve throughput while maintaining high standards for quality and cost. A core expectation is a strong, proactive safety focus —integrating risk identification, safe work practices, and process/equipment safeguards into day-to-day engineering support to protect employees, prevent incidents, and ensure compliant, reliable operations. The team's mission is to reduce and control higher-risk elements within the production environment. Success will be measured by the reduction of a Risk-Severity Index for each site. The team will evaluate and rate hazards then execute effective solutions on aggressive timelines. Functions and Responsibilities Manufacturing Process Flow

• Assists in the planning and design of manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products. Help determine equipment and tooling needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications. Process Improvement
• Assists in developing and implementing process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. Engineering Design Support
• Provides input to more senior engineers regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Regulatory Compliance
• Helps ensure basic processes and procedures comply with regulations. Learn to apply frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Remediation
• Investigates and makes recommendations for corrective action to ensure product quality and resolve quality issues.

Performs additional responsibilities as assigned Typical Responsibilities A typical day in this role may include reviewing active project status, supporting teammates with ideas or troubleshooting, brainstorming mechanical or control-related solutions, and working directly with production personnel to understand safety concerns and process issues. The engineer may be responsible for developing project plans that range from one-day fixes to year-long initiatives, obtaining quotes, evaluating vendor solutions, comparing competing technical options, creating purchase requisitions, and justifying capital equipment investments to divisional leadership.

Qualifications Educational requirement:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering field with 1-3 years of experience. Ideal candidates will be self-driven engineers who naturally take ownership of problems, enjoy hands-on work. They must be able to translate an operator's description and/or requested fix into a well characterized problem that has simple, practical engineering solutions. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, speed, creativity, and sound technical judgment are all critical. Knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of basic to moderate scope and complexity. Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT) Knowledge of data structures and database programming Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems or other computer aided manufacturing systems, in addition to standard business application software and/ or specialized data analysis tools Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusions Strong verbal and written communication skills Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers Physical Requirements
