Job Description
About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Composite Manufacturing Engineer to join their manufacturing organization and play a key role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of composite manufacturing processes. This position will work closely with engineering, production, quality, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to bring new products and manufacturing processes from concept through production. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong composite manufacturing expertise who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges and improving processes in a high-reliability environment. What You'll Do Lead the development and implementation of composite manufacturing processes from initial concept through full-scale production. Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, production equipment, tooling, fixtures, and process systems. Design, develop, and implement tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and other manufacturing solutions. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, including process development, production readiness, and transition into manufacturing. Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, tooling documentation, and standard procedures. Conduct engineering analyses to evaluate product designs, manufacturing processes, and production systems. Develop and perform testing and validation activities for R&D, process qualification, and product verification. Analyze manufacturing and production data to identify root causes, eliminate waste, and improve process performance. Lead continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across production operations. Determine production cycle times, labor requirements, equipment needs, and manufacturing costs. Support equipment selection, installation, production floor layout, and implementation. Work with suppliers and vendors to improve materials, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Partner with engineering, quality, operations, sales, and customers to troubleshoot and resolve technical and manufacturing issues. Help manage project schedules, manufacturing deliverables, and budget objectives. Train production personnel on newly developed or modified processes and procedures. Contribute to a culture focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
