Lake Mills, Wisconsin Job Type:
Full Time, On Site Simpli Soda is hiring a hands-on Automation Engineer to improve, maintain, and expand the automation used throughout our production facility. This position will initially focus on our CO2 cylinder filling equipment. You will work directly on the production floor to identify equipment problems, reduce breakdowns, improve reliability, and increase filling speed and consistency. This is not a desk-only engineering position. You must be comfortable troubleshooting equipment, working around machinery, and taking projects from initial problem identification through design, installation, testing, and measurable validation. Responsibilities Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled equipment Improve existing CO2 filling equipment to reduce downtime and increase performance Design machine components, fixtures, assemblies, and equipment improvements using SolidWorks Read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic or hydraulic diagrams Perform basic Siemens TIA Portal V19 PLC programming, troubleshooting, and optimization Work with sensors, valves, regulators, load cells, motors, relays, and industrial controls Identify the root causes of equipment failures and develop permanent solutions Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and documentation Identify additional production processes that can be automated Help establish and eventually grow Simpli Soda's automation engineering team Required Qualifications Strong mechanical engineering, automation, mechatronics, or industrial equipment experience Proficiency with SolidWorks Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot industrial equipment Working knowledge of Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal V19 Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems Comfortable working hands-on in an active production environment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Strong analytical skills for engineering data analysis and root cause investigations Effective team leadership abilities with experience managing cross-disciplinary teams in a factory or manufacturing facility setting Preferred Qualifications Experience with fluid flow, pressure, temperature, compressed gases, or process equipment Experience with CO2 filling equipment, proportional valves, regulators, or load-cell-based systems Ability to operate a manual lathe or mill Experience designing or retrofitting automated production machinery Benefits Health insurance Competitive pay Paid vacation Paid sick days Paid holidays Opportunities for advancement Friendly and supportive work environment Opportunity to help build and lead a future automation team Join Our Team At Simpli Soda, you will not be stepping into a role where your ideas get lost in layers of management. $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
