A Manufacturing or Production Technician works with manufacturing equipment and machinery. Performs set up and tests, monitors, adjusts and repairs machines used to produce products or other machines. Inspects equipment, troubleshoots problems with machines or designs.
The Production Technician is responsible for the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment in an oil and gas field environment. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production personnel and other field teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Midland Basin production operations, particularly as a Lease Operator or Pumper. Candidates should have hands-on experience operating and maintaining producing wells, tank batteries, compressors, separators, flowlines, and other related production equipment. Successful candidates will be able to independently troubleshoot field issues, diagnose equipment problems, perform or coordinate necessary repairs, optimize production, maintain a strong safety culture, and effectively manage assigned routes with minimal supervision. Direct Permian Basin oil and gas production experience is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot oil and gas production equipment. Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs or coordinate repairs as needed. Monitor producing wells, tank batteries, compressors, separators, flowlines, and related equipment. Identify and address field issues that may impact production, equipment reliability, or safety. Support production optimization efforts and help ensure production targets are met. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance. Maintain a strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and operational procedures. Manage assigned production routes efficiently with minimal supervision. Work collaboratively with production personnel and other field teams to meet operational, quality, and production goals. Accurately document field activities, equipment conditions, maintenance, and production-related issues. Qualifications Hands-on experience in an oil and gas production environment is strongly preferred. Lease Operator, Pumper, or similar production operations experience is highly desirable. Experience with Midland Basin and/or Permian Basin production operations is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve field issues independently. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team. Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
