Position:
Mechanical/Piping Inspector
Location:
Near Mentone, TX Key requirements: Current AWS CWI certification (required) 5+ years mechanical inspection experience specifically in gas processing/cryogenic/NGL plants — pipeline transmission experience (B31.8/B31.4) does NOT qualify Must have processing facility and/or fabrication shop experience (not pipeline-only welding inspectors) Strong
ASME B31.3
process piping code knowledge; working knowledge of ASME Section
IX, AWS D1.1, API 570
preferred Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, fab drawings, equipment data sheets Scope of work: Inspect process piping (incl. high-pressure ANSI 600+/cryogenic), pressure vessels, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers (BAHX/shell & tube), amine treating equipment, fractionation equipment Serve as primary CWI — verify welder quals, WPS/PQR compliance, weld quality Witness/document hydro, pneumatic, and leak testing; coordinate NDE (RT/UT/MT/PT) Issue and track punch list items, review welding/MTR/test package documentation Support PSM elements (MOC, PSSR), mechanical completion walkdowns, turnover packages Daily reporting via Procore
