Unwind Operator (Spliceman) -

12-Hour Night Shift, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Production Supervisor Position Summary BITEC, Inc. is seeking an Unwind Operator (Spliceman) to support our manufacturing production line. This position is responsible for splicing rolls of support material/mat to keep the production line running efficiently and assisting with other production operations as needed. Candidates must be able to work a full 12-hour shift and perform physically demanding work in a manufacturing environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Splice rolls of support material/mat during production. Rolls range in weight from approximately 20 to 600 lbs. Roll changes are completed with assistance from another employee or by mechanical means. Assist with the preparation of production batches as required. Fill sand/slag holding tanks as needed. Assist the Impregnator Operator with torch film preparation and changeovers. Provide relief for the Impregnator Operator and Utility/Forklift Operator. Change and charge the talc slurry system. Perform production line lace-up. Maintain accurate records of support/mat being used. Change elevators to the appropriate granule color and assist with unloading granule trucks. Unload molten APP trucks following established safety procedures. Maintain good housekeeping in assigned work areas. Cross-train in other production positions as needed. Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical & Work Environment Requirements This is a physically demanding manufacturing position.

Applicants must be able to:

Work a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Lift up to 120 lbs. repeatedly as required by the position. Climb ladders. Frequently stand, walk, lift, pull, push, and handle materials throughout the shift. Stoop, bend, and crouch for brief periods. Work in a hot and humid manufacturing environment, with temperatures that may reach approximately 115°F. Work weekends and overtime as required by the production schedule. Qualifications & Skills Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and counting. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability and willingness to learn multiple production positions. Forklift training/certification or ability to obtain required certification. Safety Requirements Safety is an essential part of this position. Employees must remain aware of workplace hazards, follow all company safety policies and procedures, and properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position is best suited for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable with physically demanding work, and able to work a full 12-hour shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
