Aerospace / Spacecraft Manufacturing Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to support the fabrication, assembly, testing, rework, and inspection of spacecraft components and assemblies. This position works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams and requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand tools, and the ability to read engineering drawings and follow detailed manufacturing procedures. Key Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electromechanical components and subassemblies. Set up and test prototype units and assemblies. Perform quality inspections, testing, calibration, and rework. Work with engineers to support manufacturing and process improvements. Handle fragile composite materials and aerospace hardware. Track adhesive usage, traceability, pot life, and out-time requirements. Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, shop plans, and work instructions. Use hand tools, precision tools, and proper torque techniques. Collect and document manufacturing and test data. Identify and report quality or manufacturing issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required. High School Diploma/GED plus 2+ years of additional education and/or related experience . Mechanical/manufacturing aptitude and hands-on assembly experience. Ability to read engineering drawings and/or schematics. Experience using hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers. Understanding of basic torque concepts. Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods. Willingness to work overtime, flexible hours, or different shifts as required. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or spacecraft manufacturing experience. Mechanical/electromechanical assembly experience. Composite material and adhesive handling. Prototype assembly, testing, inspection, or rework. Experience with Digital Multimeters (DMM), DC power supplies, or source meters . Soldering experience; J-STD certification preferred . Knowledge of ISO standards and manufacturing quality requirements. Forklift, crane, or rigging experience. Experience with precision tools and manufacturing process improvement.
Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Application Question(s): How many years of hands-on manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or technician experience do you have, and do you have experience reading engineering drawings or schematics?
