Job Description

Production Manager - Verus Line Geotrek Camper Vans - 4.2 Boulder, CO Job Details Full-time $90,000 - $120,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) 4% Match 401(k) matching Qualifications Manufacturing management Safety standards in production Quality inspection Materials handling Assembly line experience Full Job Description About Geotrek Vans We design and hand-build premium off-grid camper vans that turn "someday" into a road trip this weekend, selling direct so adventure isn't taxed by dealer markups. We believe great products come from real-world testing and honest craftsmanship — and whether you're behind the build or behind the scenes, everyone here plays a part in getting people out the door and onto the road. The Role Own the Verus line end to end: committed dates hit, at the target labor hours per unit, with quality that does not come back. One seat runs the line and improves it. This role wins through people and systems, not personal output. This is a floor job with a desk attached, not the reverse. It's not the fastest builder on the floor with a title — if the line only moves when you're on a van, the seat is failing. And it's not a seat handed out for tenure; time at Geotrek helps but doesn't decide it. What You'll Own
  • The schedule — unit sequencing, start and finish dates, and WIP order. You're accountable for units leaving the floor on the dates committed to customers.
  • Labor hours per unit — the primary efficiency number, driven down quarter over quarter by knowing the constraint on the line and working on it.
  • First-pass quality — defects caught at the station that created them, not at final QC or delivery. You stop the line when a systemic defect appears — nobody needs permission to stop bad work.
  • The build team — assignments, crew structure, attendance, and performance conversations. You run the daily huddle and a weekly numbers review with the team, not at them.
  • Process, flow, and station design — the physical layout of the line, piloted and proven at one station before anything goes line-wide.
  • The build manual — no process change is line-wide until it's written down. You own the training materials that make training repeatable without you.
  • Parts and handoffs — the line is never waiting on parts, and the cabinetry handoff meets the kit quality and timing standard.
  • Safety and shop standards — every incident and near miss gets reported and reviewed; every tool and part has a place. What You Bring
  • Proven experience running a production floor and hitting dates — not just having worked on one
  • The ability to read a floor and find the constraint without being told where to look
  • A track record of writing things down — standardized work and a current build manual are part of the job, not a side project
  • A track record that builders want to work for you — the team is the product here
  • Comfort being measured weekly on units out, on-time rate, hours per unit, and quality Work Environment & Physical Demands This is primarily a floor role: expect the majority of each shift standing, walking, and working directly at build stations, with regular lifting and handling of parts and materials (generally up to ~50 lbs, with team lifts for heavier items) and some desk time for the build manual and weekly reporting.
