The Metal Fabricator I - Clean Line Technician is responsible for running the various cleaning processes that are used to treat and clean parts. This includes alkaline cleaning, acid cleaning, sodium nitrite rust inhibitor cleaning, baking parts and vapor degreasing.Location:
Manchester, CT This role will be onsite 100% of the time. It is a 1st shift position with core hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.Responsibilities:
Performs basic functional, mechanical and visual inspections on various types of aerospace components. Sets-up cleaning operation with assistance from Chemical Engineer and/or Special Process Leader, may make minor tank modifications including change outs. Identify and report production problems to supervision. Processes parts that are in rework status. Maintains solution tanks and cleans hardware to maintain internal quality and external customer requirements. Operates other equipment related to the maneuvering of parts such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, or overhead hoists to move heavy loads. Contributes to continuous improvement and supports 6S initiatives to improve work flow, work output, efficiency, and production processes. Performs all other duties as assigned within the skill and capability of the individual including testing such a pH, conductivity , acid acceptance and silver nitrate titration.Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent 1-2 years related experience Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis. Must be able to perform work subject toITAR/EAR
regulations.Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude. Able to read, write, and speak in standard English Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Professional sheet metal fabricator certificate Basic knowledge of specific properties of metals used Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprintsPhysical Requirements:
Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment. Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Compensation & Benefits:
