Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to perform all mechanical testing of stainless steel piping and tubing products. This position will load and validate all mechanical tests into the system to make products available to ship on time and per schedule. In this role, you will ensure that laboratory operations adhere to strict safety and compliance standards while contributing to the advancement of our manufacturing capabilities. Main Areas of Responsibility
  • Complete mechanical testing required per purchase orders and quality requirements
  • Maintain mechanical quality records to include tensile, chemistry, corrosion testing, and special testing logs, reports and charts
  • Assist the Quality Administrative Assistant with MTR requirements
  • Maintain gauge calibration system. Complete and record equipment and gauge calibrations as applicable
  • Maintain Training Data Base Files and records
  • Notify manufacturing of possessing problems associated with mechanical failures Core Competencies High attention to detail and accuracy required Strong teamwork skills Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work independently is essential Must be a highly motivated self-starter who can identify potential problems and collaborate with management to take action Must possess willingness to assist where needed to ensure the company meets its goals and objectives on time Must possess time management skills Willing to learn and apply new skills Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Excellent oral and written communication skills Superior interpersonal skills and an ability to interact and speak with all levels of individuals Good organizational ability and comfort within a multi-task environment Distinguishes what is significant and sets priorities Projects imagination, initiative and enthusiasm Inspires and motivates others to share in common vision Possesses high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image Ability to speak read and write English to the extent necessary for safe and efficient performance of the job Work Environment and Physical Requirements Ability to walk, stand and bend for up to 50% of work time and lift/move over 25 pounds when positioning and transferring test samples.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is exposed to fumes/odors noise, vibration, heat and cold Possible exposure to Blood borne pathogens Exposure to physical hazards Possible exposure to chemical hazard Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone Education & Experience 3-5 years similar work experience is preferred Machining, saw, and mechanical machine experience. Familiar with non-destructive and destructive testing a plus High school diploma or equivalent
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
