Position Summary:
The Production Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for supporting manufacturing or production operations by performing routine tasks related to equipment operation, product assembly, packaging, and quality control. This role follows established procedures and works under direct supervision to meet production objectives while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. ________________________________________
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates basic production equipment or machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines. Performs manual assembly, material handling, labeling, packaging, or related tasks as assigned. Monitors equipment performance and notifies supervisor or maintenance personnel of any issues or irregularities. Conducts visual inspections or in-process checks to verify product quality and conformance to specifications. Accurately records production data, equipment readings, and process observations as required. Participates in routine cleaning, maintenance, or changeover procedures to maintain equipment readiness. Adheres to all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, GMP, ISO, etc.). Maintains a clean and organized work area in compliance with housekeeping standards. Collaborates with team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and meet production goals. ________________________________________
Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic understanding of production processes and equipment operation. Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard procedures with accuracy. Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive task environment. ________________________________________
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 0-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar environment preferred. Training will be provided for specific processes, equipment, and procedures. ________________________________________
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to [insert weight, e.g., 25-65 lbs. Exposure to manufacturing environment conditions, including noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. ________________________________________
