Reporting to the Additive Manufacturing Technical Lead, you'll own the post-processing flow for Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) and keep work moving from completed builds through inspection and final staging. You'll also jump in on FDM and SLA when needed—finishing, assembly, and other production tasks—so every part meets our standards and ships on time. A Day in This Role You arrive, review the queue with the Technical Lead, and prep today's MJF builds. You organize powders, verify materials, and set up the machine for a clean run. As prints finish, you unpack builds, depowder, bead blast, and dye. You install heat-set inserts and hardware to spec, inspect for defects or dimensional issues, and stage everything clearly—printed, cleaned, inspected, rework, and completed—so the next step is obvious. Throughout the day, you log production data, change consumables, and perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance to keep equipment ready. When needed, you help the FDM/SLA lines: remove parts, clear supports, clean resin, cure, sand, and stage. You coordinate with finishing, painting, quality, and production so nothing gets stuck. PPE on, workstation clean, priorities followed. What You'll Do Run daily MJF production: prepare builds, set up, operate, monitor, and stage jobs. Handle polymer powders safely—loading, recovery, storage, and organization. Unpack builds; perform depowdering, cleaning, bead blasting, dyeing, sorting, and staging. Install heat-set inserts and hardware per drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements. Inspect parts during post-processing; flag defects, damage, missing components, and dimensional concerns. Follow work instructions, production travelers, quality standards, and scheduling priorities. Keep staging zones clearly organized for printed, cleaned, inspected, rework, and completed parts. Complete routine machine cleaning, preventive maintenance, consumable changes, and readiness checks.
Maintain accurate records:
job status, quantities, scrap, rework, machine logs, insert counts, and post-processing notes.
Assist FDM/SLA:
part and support removal, resin cleaning, curing, sanding, and staging. Coordinate with finishing, painting, quality, and production to keep work flowing. Maintain a clean, safe, organized production environment; follow PPE, equipment-safety, powder-handling, and housekeeping requirements. Perform other additive manufacturing and production-support duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, machine operation, shop work, finishing, assembly, or a related technical field. Strong mechanical aptitude; confident operating production equipment. Meticulous attention to detail; consistently follows written instructions. Comfort handling small parts, tracking quantities, and organizing multiple jobs. Able to recognize visible defects, damage, missing parts, installation problems, and related concerns. Basic computer skills for job tracking, documentation, and production records. Safe around powders, compressed air, heated tools, blasting equipment, and industrial machinery. Dependable, organized, and effective working independently or on a team. Preferred Qualifications Background in additive manufacturing or industrial 3D printing. Experience with MJF, SLS, SLA, FDM, or comparable technologies.
Hands-on post-processing:
depowdering, bead blasting, dyeing, sanding, support removal, resin cleaning, and curing. Heat-set insert installation or similar hardware assembly in manufactured parts. Ability to read production travelers, technical drawings, work instructions, and inspection requirements. Experience in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment. Familiarity with hand tools, shop equipment, heated tools, pallet jacks, and material handling. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on work for extended periods in a manufacturing setting. Lift and handle parts, powder containers, consumables, and production materials as required. Perform repetitive hand movements and detailed part-handling tasks. Wear required PPE and work safely around powders, compressed air, heated tools, blasting equipment, resin systems, 3D printers, and other industrial equipment.
