Job Description

Electro-Prep, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to work in our Wareham MA facility. EPI manufactures custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, electromechanical assemblies / box-build, and other custom assemblies. Flexible 4 day work week. PURPOSE Builds new products and creates manufacturing processes in an NPI cell environment. Develops production documentation and assists engineering, production, and quality departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Builds products and creates EPI manufacturing processes in the NPI cell; supplies first-piece articles to customers for build and process approvals. Using customer-supplied documentation packages, assists engineering in updating EPI bills of materials, wire run lists, drawings, schematics, and test procedures. Creates quotes for new products for customers. Assists engineering and sales in supporting customers by designing harnesses, specifying electrical components, and developing EPI manufacturing processes and electrical test fixtures to meet customer needs. Supports inspection and test technicians in troubleshooting products and building test fixtures. Assists in resolving supplier quality issues and implementing corrective actions. Leads and participates in electrical box builds. Performs other duties as requested or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician in a production environment. 5 to 10 years of electromechanical assembly experience in a wire and cable manufacturing environment. Ability to read schematics, ladder diagrams, and wire run lists. Experience documenting processes through visual means, including digital pictures, screenshots, or SolidWorks. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience with SolidWorks or CAD. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment used in wire harness and cable manufacturing. IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or
J-STD-001
training or certification; certified instructor is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in a clean manufacturing environment with minimal noise. Spends time in both office and manufacturing floor environments. May work with any equipment in the manufacturing environment. Electro-Prep, Inc. —
