Key ResponsibilitiesOperate vacuum deposition systems and support equipment after training and under established proceduresPrepare, handle, load, and unload parts, substrates, fixtures, and tooling with care and consistencyPerform basic mechanical tasks such as fastening, alignment, part setup, fixture cleaning, and simple equipment adjustmentsFollow run sheets, work instructions, travelers, and visual standards to support repeatable production outputInspect parts for obvious defects, contamination, handling damage, or process concerns and report issues promptlyFollow cleanroom gowning, contamination control, PPE, safety, and quality requirementsUse basic hand tools, measuring tools, carts, fixtures, and shop-floor equipment safely and appropriatelyUtilize FactoryTrak and/or SyteLine ERP to accurately record production transactions after trainingMaintain cleanliness of labs, chambers, carts, tools, and workstations in accordance with 5S proceduresEscalate equipment, quality, safety, or process concerns to technicians, engineers, or managementDemonstrate progress toward technician-level skills through training completion, safe work practices, process discipline, and mechanical problem-solvingOther duties as assigned by Department Manager QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDPrior manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, automotive supplier, maintenance, fabrication, or mechanically focused work experience preferredCleanroom, vacuum system, or thin film coating experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided

Skills & Competencies:

Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, fixtures, hardware, and equipmentAbility to follow detailed written and verbal instructions in a controlled manufacturing environmentGood hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and careful part handling habitsAbility to learn specialized cleanroom, vacuum deposition, coating, and measurement processes through hands-on trainingBasic computer skills and ability to enter accurate production information into ERP or shop-floor systemsFamiliarity with basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, or visual inspection aids preferredReliable attendance, safe work habits, and willingness to work as part of a production teamProblem-solving mindset with the ability to recognize abnormal equipment, part, or process conditions

Preferred Background:

Experience in Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 automotive manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, quality inspection, maintenance, or material handlingHands-on experience with mechanical assembly, tooling, fixtures, fasteners, basic troubleshooting, or equipment setupPrior exposure to cleanroom, optical, coating, vacuum, CNC, lab, or precision manufacturing environments is a plusFamiliarity with ISO based quality systems, 5S, standardized work, production travelers, or work instructions

Training and Advancement Path:

Company-provided training will cover cleanroom practices, vacuum deposition equipment, product handling, ERP transactions, safety requirements, and quality expectationsOperators will be evaluated on attendance, safety, quality, process discipline, mechanical aptitude, equipment ownership, and ability to learn increasingly technical tasksAfter approximately one year of successful performance and training progression, the operator may be considered for advancement toward Deposition Manufacturing Technician responsibilities
