Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Set up and operate CNC and/or mechanical spring coiling machines according to production schedules and work orders. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, spring specifications, and customer requirements. Manufacture compression, extension, torsion, and custom wire-form springs to required tolerances. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, spring testers, and other precision measuring equipment. Adjust machine settings, tooling, feed rates, and programs to maintain product specifications and optimal machine performance. Monitor wire quality, spring dimensions, pitch, diameter, and other critical characteristics throughout production. Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime and scrap. Conduct routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and preventative maintenance activities. Complete production records, quality documentation, and inspection reports accurately and timely. Maintain inventory of wire materials, tooling, and production supplies as assigned. Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support new product launches and process improvements. Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction. SKILLS andABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings. Strong understanding of spring manufacturing processes and wire materials. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery and tooling issues. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products. Basic computer skills for machine operation, production reporting, and data entry. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. EDUCATION andEXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 1 year experience with CNC machinesEEOC Statement:
