Salary:
$22.54 - 24.29 per hour + none
Reference:
S_178881 Spherion is seeking a skilled and reliable Weld Technician for a permanent, direct-hire opportunity with a premier automotive supplier. In this role, you will play a critical part in the machining, processing, and assembly of steering columns and half shafts destined for major automobile manufacturers. You will maintain high quality standards, perform technical robot/alarm recoveries, maintain line flow, and occasionally provide peer leadership and training within the Steel Department.
Position Details:
Direct-hire, permanent role with immediate benefits. Pay range from $22.54-$24.29 with room for growth!!
Responsibilities:
Technical & Operational Execution Equipment & Automation:
Perform robot recovery activities, execute alarm recovery procedures, and operate/run masters according to required testing frequencies.
Quality & Testing:
Identify product or process defects, run first-pass kickout re-runs, and deliver CMM and test parts to Quality Control (QC) in a timely manner.
Inventory & Materials:
Collect non-conforming (NG) parts for scrap analysis, perform periodic inventory counts, stock production line materials, and log daily inventory data into the TPM file.
Safety & Maintenance:
Ensure 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) housekeeping standards are met and maintain a safe working environment.
Team Support & Leadership Training:
Conduct Job Instruction (TWI) training, document completed training, and instruct team members on equipment operation, limit samples, and alarm recovery.
Coverage & Communication:
Step in to support assembly associates during breaks, step up to supervise the team in the Team Leader???s absence, and communicate effectively with associates, technicians, and leadership regarding quality or production issues.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Automotive Manufacturing:
Prior experience working in an automotive component manufacturing environment. Lean / 5
S Exposure:
Working knowledge of 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or continuous improvement methodologies.
Peer Leadership:
Prior experience assisting with team training, associate coverage, or step-in leadership roles.
Education:
High School Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Industry Experience:
Moderate hands-on experience with manufacturing assembly lines and technical production processes.
Technical Aptitude:
Familiarity with basic quality tools, machine/robot recovery protocols, and product inspection.
Work Ethic & Dependability:
Proven track record of consistent, on-time attendance and a strong team-oriented mindset.
