Digital Production Specialist We are ICARUS Medical Innovations, a rapidly growing orthopedic bracing company in downtown Charlottesville, VA. We have designed, commercialized, and now manufacture a new class of custom orthopedic braces using cutting-edge scanning and 3D printing technology, which has resulted in major pain relief and restored activity for our customers. We are seeking a talented Digital Production Specialist to support our mission of providing Mobility Health. In this role, you will turn patient scans into custom brace designs. You will prepare each patient scan, fit the appropriate brace to the scan, run our proprietary automation software to generate the final model, and perform quality control before the design moves to manufacturing. This is a queue based production role with flexibility in hours and scheduling, as long as performance metrics are met. You will also be a technical point of contact for clinicians, helping them understand how and why each device was designed the way it was. Responsibilities Process and prepare patient scans for brace design Fit brace designs to patient scans based on clinical indications and prescription details Run automation software to model braces and troubleshoot issues as they come up Perform quality control on final digital models before they are released to manufacturing Manage a design queue to meet turnaround, quality, and throughput metrics Communicate with clinicians to clarify design changes and requests Provide technical explanations and recommendations on design decisions and device fit Maintain proper documentation on each design Recommend improvements to the digital workflow and automation tools for quality and efficiency Qualifications Strong spatial reasoning and comfort working with 3D models and digital tools Familiarity with 3D scanning or 3D modeling software (Fusion 360, Rhino, Blender, Meshmixer, or similar) preferred Knowledge of human anatomy, orthopedic conditions, or clinical indications preferred; we will train the right candidate Clear, professional written and verbal communication, especially with clinicians Attention to detail and care for quality Self-motivated and able to manage your own schedule to meet performance goals Solution-based and inventive Experience in orthotics, prosthetics, medical devices, or another regulated industry is a plus Location and Schedule This position is ideally based in, or open to relocating to, Charlottesville, VA, where it will follow a hybrid schedule. A fully remote arrangement is available for the right candidate. Scheduling is flexible, with performance measured through production and quality metrics.
