Job Description

The Production Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and preparing high-output alternators and related products according to established build sheets, quality standards, and production schedules. This position requires strong attention to detail, dependable workmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assemble alternators and related components according to build sheets and work instructions Identify and verify the correct housings, rotors, stators, rectifiers, regulators, pulleys, hardware, and other components Perform mechanical and electrical assembly operations using hand tools, power tools, presses, soldering equipment, and other production equipment Follow specified torque values, assembly procedures, and quality requirements Inspect components throughout the assembly process for damage, defects, or incorrect fitment Perform required electrical and functional testing on completed products Record test results and complete required production documentation Immediately report defective components, incorrect documentation, equipment issues, or quality concerns Maintain an organized and clean work area Meet established production and quality expectations without sacrificing workmanship Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment Assist with rework, inventory counts, training, and other production responsibilities as needed Quality Responsibilities Follow the current revision of all build sheets and work instructions Do not make unauthorized substitutions or changes to components or assembly procedures Stop production and notify a supervisor when requirements are unclear or a possible nonconformance is identified Ensure completed products meet Mechman's workmanship, appearance, performance, and traceability requirements Participate in corrective actions and process improvement efforts when requested Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in manufacturing, automotive repair, electrical assembly, or mechanical assembly is beneficial Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools Ability to follow written instructions, build sheets, and visual references Basic understanding of electrical components and measurements is beneficial Ability to accurately distinguish part numbers and component variations Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively with others Willingness to learn multiple production operations Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to frequently lift and handle alternators, components, and materials weighing up to approximately 30 pounds Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks Ability to bend, reach, grip, and safely operate production equipment Schedule Monday -

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Includes 30 minute lunch break and two paid 15 minute breaks
