: Position Summary

The SMT Process Technician supports Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing operations by performing equipment setup, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and process support activities. This position works closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure high equipment uptime, product quality, and efficient manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and support SMT production equipment.

Perform product changeovers, line setups, and machine verifications.

Troubleshoot SMT equipment and process-related issues.

Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities on SMT equipment.

Support production by responding to machine alarms and downtime events.

Assist with defect reduction and yield improvement activities.

Monitor SMT processes and ensure compliance with established procedures.

Maintain maintenance logs, setup records, and equipment documentation.

Support continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Follow all safety, ESD, and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree, technical certification, trade school education, or equivalent STEM background in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.

Minimum 3 years of SMT Technician experience in a PCBA manufacturing environment.

Experience operating and troubleshooting SMT production equipment.

Experience performing preventive maintenance on SMT equipment.

Knowledge of SMT processes including solder paste printing, component placement, reflow soldering, AOI, and SPI inspection.

Basic computer skills and ability to work with technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Client Pick-and-Place equipment.

Experience with ERSA Reflow Ovens, AOI, and SPI systems.

IPC-A-610

certification.

Experience in high-volume electronics manufacturing.

Familiarity with MES/SFC systems, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S methodologies.
