TITLE:
Extrusion Technician
A POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for change-over and operation of lines within his/her assigned island. Must be able to maintain good housekeeping, safety, quality, production quality, and must be able to work with other employees in assigned team.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED is preferred
3 year + Plastic blown film experience as an operator or 2/4 year degree related in the field that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position is preferred
Mechanical aptitude
Must be able to do Process Maintenance
Must be able to maintain production and quality of 6 production lines
Must be able to train Operator Trainees
Must be able to identify safety hazards
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to all plant safety rules and company policy
Responsible for housekeeping of assigned area
Responsible for quality in assigned area including proper QC procedures
Responsible for production in assigned area
Responsible for production paperwork in assigned area
Able to fill in as packer for breaks and when short handed
Perform product change in assigned area
Perform TPM in assigned area
Assist with training employees
Assist with troubleshooting equipment in assigned area
Work with maintenance on repair of equipment
Able to fill in during absence of his/her: Sr. Lead Technician Work overtime as needed
Able to do master roll change unassisted
Able to do additional work as requested by supervisor
Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION
Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be hard above the noise level.
