Duties, Responsibilities & Other KCI is seeking a motivated Marine Structures Engineering Intern to join our team for Summer 2027. Summer interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required during the period from mid-May to the end of August. Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities.
Responsibilities include:
Interest in structural design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel marine-related structures (piers, bulkheads, docks, etc.) is preferred. Assists with work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, or equipment related to marine and waterfront engineering. Supports assignments such as design and development, materials testing, preparation of specifications, process studies, research investigations, report preparation, and other tasks of limited scope that require knowledge of engineering principles and techniques. Collaborates with internal teams and external partners on multidisciplinary marine design/engineering projects. Provides support to Engineers by preparing calculations, drawings, and documentation as directed. Incorporates feedback from Project or Technical Managers and makes adjustments to work products under supervision. Completes assignments in a timely and effective manner within established schedules. Exposure to different phases of design, construction administration, and bid phase services is a plus. Qualifications Education and/or

This is an entry level position where no previous experience is required. Currently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program Education and/or
Work Experience Preferred:
3.0 GPA or higher Certificates, licenses, and/or
Registrations Required:
Valid Driver's License Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
