Job Overview We are actively seeking Tug Boat Engineers across all levels to join our dynamic maritime operations nationwide. This vital role involves the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of tug boats that support port activities, shipping logistics, and maritime safety. Candidates will be responsible for ensuring vessel compliance with industry standards, conducting routine inspections, and executing emergency procedures when necessary. Responsibilities Operate tug boats in accordance with safety protocols, navigational guidelines, and operational procedures to ensure secure vessel movement. Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, propulsion units, and onboard equipment to identify potential issues proactively. Perform routine maintenance tasks including engine checks, system calibrations, and component replacements to maximize vessel uptime. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions utilizing diagnostic tools such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Simulink. Implement root cause analysis to diagnose complex technical problems affecting vessel performance or safety. Maintain detailed logs of operations, maintenance activities, and repairs in compliance with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards. Collaborate with port authorities, ship crews, and other maritime personnel through cross-functional communication to coordinate vessel movements effectively. Assist in project planning related to vessel upgrades or modifications using CAD software like SolidWorks, Creo, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools. Adhere strictly to safety regulations and environmental policies to promote a safe working environment onboard and ashore. Support training initiatives for junior engineers and crew members on mechanical systems, schematics, and mechanical drawings. Experience Proven experience operating tug boats or similar marine vessels within an industrial or manufacturing engineering context. Practical understanding of manufacturing processes related to marine equipment or industrial machinery. Experience practicing in roles that require project management skills such as project scheduling and resource allocation. Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis on complex technical issues affecting vessel operations or equipment performance.
