Duties Deliver comprehensive welding instruction using both classroom theory and practical hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment Develop and update curriculum materials that incorporate current industry standards, OSHA safety regulations, and emerging technologies such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and educational technologies Facilitate online instruction sessions to accommodate remote learners while maintaining high engagement levels Assess student progress through practical demonstrations, written tests, and project evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement Ensure a safe learning environment by enforcing safety protocols related to welding, hydraulics, electrical work, HVAC systems, automotive repair, plumbing, and mechanical systems Collaborate with industry partners to align training programs with current workforce needs in manufacturing, construction, automotive diagnostics, aircraft maintenance, and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) Participate in curriculum development initiatives to enhance course content with up-to-date technical skills instruction and adult education best practices Requirements Proven experience in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, arc welding; familiarity with automotive service and diagnostics is highly desirable Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as hydraulics, HVAC systems (air conditioning), electrical wiring, plumbing, and general maintenance procedures Demonstrated ability to teach technical subjects effectively in both classroom settings and online platforms using computers and educational technologies Prior experience working with post-secondary students or adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds; experience in higher education teaching preferred Familiarity with safety standards including OSHA regulations relevant to manufacturing, construction sites, automotive repair shops or aircraft maintenance environments Technical proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Blackboard learning management system or similar online instruction tools Ability to design engaging courses that incorporate curriculum development principles for technical skills instruction across multiple disciplines Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent communication skills; ability to motivate students while fostering a safe learning atmosphere Join us in shaping the future workforce by sharing your expertise in welding and technical trades!
