Role Overview Based in Dubuque, IA, this Manufacturing Engineer II position involves planning and executing engineering tasks focused on sheet metal, machining, and tool design. Key Responsibilities Evaluate production data to determine the necessary machinery, tooling, process sequences, and methods. Optimize manufacturing systems to help the organization meet its quality and cost-efficiency targets. Create engineering solutions and manage feasibility trials to validate new developments. Assist in the creation and implementation of engineering specifications and standards. Review equipment and engineering installations to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and suggest necessary fixes. Detect inefficiencies in current systems and resolve them by utilizing formal change management procedures. Manage interactions with external partners and suppliers to ensure alignment with contract and project management objectives. Deliver manufacturing solutions that address specific customer needs to support overall product development. Oversee assigned engineering projects to ensure they remain on schedule and meet established goals. Offer technical mentorship to team members to improve the collective use of knowledge management and engineering systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field. Relevant professional experience or specialized training in manufacturing engineering. Background in manufacturing processes, specifically involving tooling, sheet metal fabrication, or machining. Capacity to design, test, and implement effective manufacturing solutions. Experience in the application and preparation of technical engineering documentation. Strong problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to synthesize conflicting or complex data. Capability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Proficiency in written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholder groups. Ability to take ownership of commitments and make decisions promptly. Understanding of risk management, safety policies, and regulatory standards. Ability to foster collaboration between production teams, contractors, and other departments. Skills Experience in improving or designing tooling, sheet metal, or machining processes. Proven ability to diagnose operational issues and deploy practical engineering fixes. Compensation and Benefits The base pay for this position ranges from $47.13 to $52.00 per hour, with final offers based on your specific experience, education, and skills. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay at 1.5 times the hourly rate for hours worked over 40 weekly, in accordance with local and state laws.
