The ideal candidate can perform precision welding, guide a team, and maintain production, quality, and safety standards. A hands-on TIG welding test will be conducted as part of the interview process. Responsibilities Supervise welding personnel, assign daily work, and monitor progress to meet production schedules. Perform TIG welding and provide hands-on guidance on technique, equipment settings, and troubleshooting. Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, drawings, and work instructions. Verify material preparation, joint fit-up, alignment, and cleanliness before welding. Select appropriate filler materials and adjust amperage, shielding gas flow, and other welding parameters for each job. Inspect welds for consistency, appearance, and defects to ensure they meet specifications. Identify welding issues, coordinate corrective action, and reduce scrap and rework. Train and coach welders on TIG techniques, quality expectations, and safe work practices. Monitor equipment condition, consumables, and supplies; coordinate maintenance as needed. Maintain production and inspection records and communicate progress or concerns to management. Enforce requirements for protective equipment, ventilation, hot work, and safe material handling. Qualifications Strong hands-on TIG welding experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication. Previous supervisory or welding team leadership experience. Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding symbols. Experience producing precise, consistent welds on stainless steel, aluminum, and/or steel. Knowledge of TIG equipment setup, tungsten selection, filler materials, and shielding gas. Ability to troubleshoot weld defects and maintain required dimensions and tolerances. Strong communication, organization, and employee training skills. Ability to successfully complete a hands-on TIG welding test. Welding certifications preferred.
