Job Description
Job description : We are a fast-growing family run business specializing in Thermoplastic Elastomers resin compounding looking for a Plastics Process Engineer to join our team. The prospective candidate will be expected to work in production environments wearing many hats throughout the day.
Key responsibilities:
Plastics Engineer Work with suppliers of materials, equipment, and services to execute projects, resolve problems, and improve processes to increase productivity, reduce scrap and excess usage, improve quality, and enhance safety. Select, design, and modify tooling, fixtures and equipment as necessary to improve safety, quality, throughput and productivity. Optimize production processes to deliver cost savings, improve quality, and support new product introduction. Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities throughout the manufacturing facility; focusing on increasing productivity, reduce scrap and excess usage, improve quality, and enhance safety. Provide technical product support to sales team for customer concerns. Work with Sales and Marketing team to develop and support new products and marketing.Production / Warehouse
Lead cleanout, startup, changeovers, and shutdowns on the production lines as required. Operate production lines where needed for production and sampling requests. Perform on-line product quality inspections, identify quality issues, and troubleshoot as necessary. Report non-conformances and assist management with technical issues. Perform maintenance activities on production lines and supporting equipment within facilities. Operate supporting equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when needed. Receive and process warehouse stock products. Pick and wrap orders for shipment. Adhere to safety management standards and identify workplace safety hazards. Wear and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations. Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization. Perform inventory audits and maintenance checks regularly making management aware if items are needed. Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers. Ability to lift 55-pound bags. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office desired - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to work with the data to generate periodic reports as needed. Knowledge of general plastic processing required.Education:
