Welding Supervisor

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Welding Supervisor to oversee our MIG and TIG welding team. Your primary focus will be driving production output, upholding high-quality benchmarks, and refining workflows to hit our manufacturing targets. This position is ideal for an expert in the field who is eager to lead a welding shop at a reputable metal manufacturing facility located in North NJ. Applicants must demonstrate high proficiency in welding sheet metal, including mild steel, stainless, and aluminum, ranging from thin gauges up to half-inch, alongside the ability to interpret complex welding blueprints. Key Duties Monitor welding operations, including inspecting materials and equipment settings, to ensure the team consistently meets production standards and technical drawings. Develop innovative fixtures and jigs to help streamline workflows and boost overall production efficiency. Gain proficiency in operating Motoman/Yasakawa robotic welding systems, with training provided for the right individual. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all necessary materials and equipment are readily available to support the production schedule. Maintain clear communication with the Production Manager regarding any challenges related to staff, machinery, or fabrication processes. Qualifications Proven track record of managing a team of at least four welders within a metal manufacturing setting. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a preference for bilingual Spanish speakers. Demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement, possess solid computer skills, and utilize tools like Solidworks to assist in fixture design. Foster a collaborative environment by utilizing strong interpersonal skills to manage multiple priorities and oversee all departmental functions, such as MIG, TIG, and grinding. Demonstrate the ability to interpret blueprints and weld symbols while applying a deep understanding of various alloys and sheet metal gauges. Maintain a comprehensive technical knowledge of diverse welding equipment and methodologies.
