•This position requires relocation to Louisville, Kentucky Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing welding processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting manufacturing operations through advanced engineering techniques. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a dynamic environment, utilizing expertise in mechanical design, system integration, and quality assurance. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and optimize welding procedures in accordance with ASME codes & standards and industry best practices. Conduct root cause analysis on welding defects and implement corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project scheduling, ensuring timely delivery of engineering solutions. Design mechanical components and systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, including drafting schematics and mechanical design documentation. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW to validate designs and processes. Support manufacturing operations by providing technical guidance on CNC machining, mechanical systems, and fabrication techniques. Conduct testing and validation of welding processes using tools like FEA, CAD, and LabVIEW to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Maintain detailed documentation of schematics, process parameters, and technical reports for continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degrees or certifications in quantum engineering or system design are a plus. Proven experience with project scheduling, root cause analysis, and manufacturing process optimization. Strong knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and mechanical systems. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and drafting tools for mechanical design. Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and CAD-based simulation tools. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, CNC machining, and schematic interpretation. Knowledge of GD&T principles for mechanical drawings and tolerances. Understanding of mechanical design principles, system integration, and manufacturing processes including additive manufacturing techniques. Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex issues related to welding defects or mechanical failures. Excellent communication skills for collaboration across engineering teams and manufacturing personnel.
