Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Blueprint specification interpretation Talent development Team development Team training Collaboration with manufacturing teams Team building Full Job Description A large, established automotive manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Weld Coordinator to provide frontline leadership within its weld and stamping operations. This is an opportunity to take ownership of daily production, develop employees, improve processes, and play an important role in a sophisticated Japanese manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has welding or weld-process experience combined with the ability to lead people in a fast-paced production setting. Current Welding Supervisors, Weld Team Leaders, Lead Welders, Production Supervisors, and experienced welders ready to advance into leadership are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Lead employees within the welding production area and coordinate daily workflow Assign work and ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery objectives are met Coach, train, and develop operators, welders, team leaders, and newer employees Monitor robotic and manual welding operations Identify weld-quality, equipment, tooling, and production issues Partner with maintenance, engineering, quality, and production management to resolve problems Support troubleshooting of weld cells, fixtures, robots, and related equipment Maintain standardized work, production records, schedules, and shift communication Promote continuous improvement through lean manufacturing, 5S, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions Help reduce downtime, scrap, rework, and production bottlenecks Enforce company safety procedures and quality requirements Provide hands-on support when production demands require it Qualifications Previous welding, fabrication, weld-cell, or welding-production experience Experience leading, training, coordinating, or supervising employees Working knowledge of one or more welding processes, including MIG, GMAW, resistance welding, spot welding, robotic welding, TIG, or arc welding Ability to read production documents, work instructions, blueprints, or weld specifications Strong problem-solving, communication, and employee-development skills Comfortable working in a hands-on automotive manufacturing environment Ability to collaborate across production, quality, engineering, and maintenance departments Willingness to work additional hours based on production needs Preferred Experience Automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier experience Japanese manufacturing environment Robotic welding or automated weld-cell experience Welding supervision, team-lead, group-lead, or coordinator experience Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, standardized work, and root-cause analysis Experience with weld-quality standards, troubleshooting, or continuous improvement Why Consider This Opportunity?
