Job Description

Inpria, a subsidiary of JSR Corporation, has an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Chemist based in Corvallis, OR. We seek an enthusiastic and conscientious candidate to join our diverse and talented R&D characterization team as we extend the limits of EUV lithography. This lab-centric position carries responsibilities for design, formulation, coating, and analysis of cutting-edge metal-oxide photoresists; exploration of structure-property relationships and linking solution-based inorganic chemistry to wafer-based characterization to forge novel resist materials. Primary Responsibilities:
Design and execute effective and efficient experiments to elucidate the link between lithographic observables and chemical properties. Engage with global customer teams to identify performance gaps and design & formulate high-performance MOx EUV photoresists to address customer needs. Design and execute experiments comprising EUV exposure of thin films and XPS analysis (and/or other characterization techniques) to answer specific questions related to the optimization of resist materials. Perform XPS, FTIR, TGA, ellipsometry, and other measurements as part of integrated experiments. Leverage internal and external characterization capabilities to understand material reaction mechanisms from in-bottle to on wafer and throughout exposure processing. Coat, expose, and process photoresist films under precisely controlled experimental conditions. Track and manage long-term, large-scale experiments across a variety of media and methodologies, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Provide occasional evening and/or weekend support, pending business needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or relevant related discipline. Demonstrated record of achievement and innovation in an applied research setting in deposition, characterization, and analysis of thin film materials, materials science or another relevant field. Advanced user knowledge of X-ray photoelectron spectra processing and interpretation, minimum of one year hands-on experience. Active and effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Self-motivated, flexible and proactive in achieving goals. Teamwork skills to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative research environment Strong history of safe laboratory practice and active participation in laboratory and workplace safety programs. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for employer sponsorship. Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand in one place for long periods of time. Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and tablet for computer data entry, usage of instruments, and for collecting and presenting data. Ability to use a glovebox with thick rubber gloves to accurately pour, pipet, mix, and handle chemicals in small vials or bottles. Ability to wear standard cleanroom attire and PPE in areas that require it. Ability to lift 20 lbs. Ability to speak publicly and present information in group meetings. Physical activities include using hand tools, bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, climbing stairs, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis. Ability to precisely handle small bottles, packages, labels, and other materials. Occasional domestic day and overnight travel may be required to attend conferences, training sessions, and other work-related events. Flexible and available to support global customer and team time zones while responding to critical business priorities as needed.
