The LSAW project team is building our new LSAW plant scheduled to go live in January 2026!! This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering solutions within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical and hydraulic systems, with a passion for aerospace or industrial manufacturing projects. You will be instrumental in designing, analyzing, and testing complex systems, ensuring they meet rigorous standards and project timelines. Duties Develop detailed hydraulic and mechanical system designs using advanced CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD. Perform structural analysis, fluid dynamics simulations, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to optimize system performance. Lead requirements analysis and management to ensure all engineering specifications align with project goals and industry standards like ASME codes & standards and AS9100. Conduct engineering testing, root cause analysis, and failure investigations to troubleshoot issues effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to integrate design solutions seamlessly. Manage project scheduling, coordinate milestones, and oversee system development from concept through validation phases. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders while maintaining compliance with federal aviation regulations (FAR) and military standards where applicable. Requirements Bachelor's degree or associate degree in mechanical engineering or related field; advanced degrees are a plus. 2-4 years of hands-on experience in combination with education or technical certificates earned; Proven experience with CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD; proficiency in 3D modeling for product design is essential. Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, structural analysis (FEA), and engineering data analysis techniques. Experience working within aerospace or military environments with DoD experience preferred; familiarity with AS9100 standards is advantageous. Ability to perform requirements management, systems engineering tasks, and analysis skills across complex projects. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation.
