Job Description:

Optify Search are currently partnered with an innovative global manufacturer searching for a Principal Level Mechanical Design Engineer to be the technical design lead of PECVD reactor equipment in High-Vacuum for an innovative Semiconductor company based in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor engineers while driving projects that span multiple company departments Oversee manufacturing of machined components and transition designs from R D to production, balancing performance and cost Design and develop advanced reactor systems and components, applying expertise in machine design, mechanics, thermals, and fluids Perform analytical and numerical analysis to evaluate and validate designs Manage prototyping, documentation, and fabrication, working closely with machine shops and vendors Troubleshoot and optimise existing reactor hardware to improve productivity, yield, and reliability

Key Requirements:

10+ years of experience in mechanical design; advanced degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred Expert-level experience designing high-vacuum systems; background in semiconductor tools, accelerators, or vacuum electronics Strong proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM systems (Teamcenter) Extensive knowledge of manufacturing methods with hands-on machining experience Experience designing electromechanical systems Hands-on, creative, and problem-solving mindset with proven leadership capability This role offers a competitive salary, with a great compensation package, and a strong progression pathway.
