Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer II is a member of the R D team responsible for design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of mechanical systems, sub-systems, and components in support of new product development and the improvement of existing products. This professional works on moderately complex problems and will make recommendations for change. Perform mechanical design activities of moderate complexity under the guidance of a senior level engineer. Develop and execute engineering studies and analysis of problems of moderate complexity. Leads basic design control projects adhering to applicable internal procedures, and external regulations and standards. Participate in risk management activities. Generates and maintains detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation incorporating standard principles. Coordinates fabrication of prototype components and sub-assemblies as necessary. Develops, documents, and executes verification and validation test protocols to evaluate prototype performance. Work Experience Requirements:
Skilled at use of one or more mechanical design and engineering analysis tools. Experienced in the process of design, rapid prototyping, construction, test, and analysis of components or subassemblies. Demonstrated skill in analyzing and solving problems of moderate complexity. Demonstrated working knowledge of design control activities in a regulated industry. Exposure to Design of Experiments methods Exposure to risk management processes and practices. Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of system problems to the component level. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to safely move up to 25 lbs The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Compensation and Benefits:
We pay competitively. The base salary/hourly rate range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional compensation such as annual or commission bonuses may be available. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, life, disability, 401(k), CA paid sick leave, and paid time off.
