## The group you'll be a part of The Global Operations Group connects information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and high-volume production to drive Lam's operational engine. Test Engineering supports this mission by validating product functionality, improving reliability, and optimizing test processes that enable efficient, high-quality production. ## The impact you'll make As a Test Engineer at Lam, you will support new product transitions from Pilot to Production floor test issues, improve product quality, and reduce test cycle time. This is a highly hands-on role that requires consistent clean room presence, direct work with production hardware, active troubleshooting at the tool and fixture level, and close collaboration with production teams on the factory floor. ## What you'll do Work sponsorship cannot be provided for this job opening.   • Partner cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, Supplier Engineering, suppliers, and production teams to support new product development and transition test processes into production
  • Ensure PDR, NCI, CO, and NCE deliverables are complete, including test fixtures, procedures, specifications, control charts, and validation requirements
  • Define, design, document, build, calibrate, troubleshoot, and support production test fixtures, test software, and related equipment through direct hands-on work in the clean room and production environment
  • Create and modify production test scripts for automation, metric tracking, and third-party device interfaces
  • Improve product quality through hands-on factory issue resolution, test first pass yield analysis, trend data, factory nonconformance review, field escalation support, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Define and implement test metrics to drive process improvements, reduce cycle time, and improve production performance
  • Present test fixture designs, process changes, specification updates, and technical recommendations during engineering design reviews
  • Document technical designs, procedures, and test requirements clearly; communicate technical issues effectively across engineering, supplier, pilot, and production teams
  • Use SAP and production systems to support production test processes while maintaining ownership of hands-on deliverables with minimal technical guidance ## Who we're looking for
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline and 3+ years of Test Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates should demonstrate practical experience with test equipment, hardware troubleshooting, test processes, and production support.
  • Must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Must be willing and able to work hands-on in a clean room manufacturing environment, including frequent direct interaction with test equipment, fixtures, production hardware, electro-mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing floor teams
  • Experience with test automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, SQL, Smalltalk). Willingness to learn new programming languages and automation technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electro-mechanical assemblies and manufacturing test systems. Ability to diagnose issues with test fixtures, test software, production hardware, and factory test processes.
  • Experience with engineering change management processes, test first pass yield and SPC processes/procedures Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing test operations, test equipment, and production environments strongly preferred.
## Our commitment Salary CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $73,000.00 - $159,000.00. The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
