Job Description
Job Purpose:
Review customer prints, specs and relevant documentation and lead the quoting and manufacturing process.- Interact with customers to identify needs and confirm design requirements—read and interpret/clarify customer specifications, documents, prints, quality and engineering requirements.
- Develop and present customer quotes
- Spec electrical components and identify alternative parts
- Develop single line, layout, and assembly drawings
- Maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy in ERP/MRP software program,
- Main point of contact for build and electrical questions for the manufacturing floor
- Work closely with production staff to meet manufacturing plans by providing engineering and technical support.
- Determine test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed for new products/builds.
- Lead assembly process for new products, ensuring that drawings, BOM, and Work Instructions contain necessary and accurate information
- Facilitation and implementation of improvement projects
- Write and improve Work Instructions to facilitate repeatable, quality product
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and part specifications
- Troubleshoot process problems and identify solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.
- Collaborate with the Management team to improve systems and meet companywide objectives
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Required. Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree preferred
- Experience working in the manufacturing industry preferred
- Experience with low voltage, control panels, ERP and MRP system.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and advanced excel functionality.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to frequently changing priorities.
- Proficient Computer skills and experience using databases, PDF editing, Draft sight, CAD, SolidWorks and Excel.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Exceptional communication, creative, analytical, and leadership skills
- Ability to discern causation or root cause and determine appropriate corrective action
- Ability to interface and effectively communicate with all employees at any level within the company
- Ability to analyze and present data in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, management, and other employees to communicate Ability to read and interpret drawings (electrical & mechanical), parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures
