Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following: Design Industrial Gas Turbine Engine components and systems to meet Fit, Form and Functional requirements and design criteria. Responsibility for design commonality across assigned product lines. Support the continued development and oversee the adherence to PSM design systems including job folders and documentation, technical reviews, drawings and engineering changes and field validation plans and verification. Analyze components to ensure parts maintain appropriate stress levels, meets life requirements and design criteria. Utilize appropriate design/analysis tools, such as ProEngineer, ANSYS/Abaqus, Microsoft Excel or similar. Lead or support scheduling, project engineering and procurement efforts to ensure timely delivery of components to meet program and company objectives. Evaluate supplier quotes and capabilities to ensure supplier can meet quality and schedule requirements. Assess needs and identify critical path schedules for design, manufacturing and procurement activities. New product manufacturing development. In-Field support of new product installation and ongoing engineering verification activities. Create, lead and/or deliver presentations to internal and external clients. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical, or Industrial Engineering Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM's EHS Training Matrix Skills/Experience 5+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and manufacturing gas turbine engine components and/or large rotating components. Strong analytical decision-making and organizational skills are required. Experience with FEA software desired (ANSYS or Abaqus). Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, general machining and fabrication techniques is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to perform hands-on fieldwork is strongly desired. Occasional travel will be required.
