- Princeton, Illinois Seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a hands-on technical role focused on the design and development of new products and improved mechanical hardware for the commercial and residential markets.
What You Will Do:
+ Conceive, design, develop and analyze new Mechanical/Electronic door hardware + Improve upon current designs by reducing cost and increasing robustness and reliability + Ability to communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner with all levels of management, customers, vendors, visitors and employees + Willingness to spend up to 50% of time in a manufacturing plant environment + Self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified timeframes + Ability to work independently and/or cooperatively and effectively in a team environment + Ability to apply basic problem solving and engineering analysis to complex product and process related issues + Communicate project status through reports, presentations and design reviews + Work with suppliers to source and evaluate purchased components + Work with manufacturing to produce or assemble manufactured components and assemblies + Periodic customer contact. May participate in customer presentations What You Need toSucceed:
+ BSME or BSMET required + Minimum of 2 years relevant experience + Ability to use design tools including FMEA , Root Causes Analysis, DOE , GD&T, Tol stacks up & DFA . + Preferred Creo experience + Preferred understanding of common manufacturing processes Why Work for Us? Compensation:
This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. + The expectedBase Salary Range:
$65,000- 95,000.
