Pay:

$85,000 - $95,000+ (commensurate with experience) About the Role Seeking a Machine Design Engineer to support the design and development of custom automated equipment and work cells. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoys taking concepts from scope through design, fabrication, and implementation. You'll play a key role in designing mechanical systems for automation projects, working closely with project managers, fabrication teams, and customers to deliver high-quality solutions. What You'll Be Doing Design mechanical systems for custom automation equipment and production work cells Create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD software Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and fabrication Participate in design reviews, project kickoff meetings, and customer discussions Collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs meet safety, quality, and cost targets Support fabrication and assembly teams, including occasional shop floor troubleshooting and reverse engineering Assist in project scheduling, estimating, and material cost tracking What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in mechanical design (automation or industrial equipment preferred) Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software Experience with Delmia/CATIA or understanding of robotic weld gun positions is a plus Knowledge of machine shop practices, tolerancing, and fabrication methods Experience specifying mechanical and pneumatic components (motors, gearboxes, bearings, cylinders, valves, etc.) Familiarity with FEA tools is a plus Strong understanding of blueprints, SOWs, and engineering documentation Ability to work independently and manage designs from concept to completion Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, and internal teams Nice to Have Experience with Toyota standards or automotive manufacturing environments Background in material handling or industrial automation systems Experience with SolidWorks PDM Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Pay:
