The Park System Technical Specialist requires an in-depth understanding of customer and vehicle-level needs. This role is responsible for synthesizing these needs into functional, durability, functional safety, and NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) requirements for the park system. Technical specialist shall possess thorough understanding of Park by Cable, Park by Wire and park actuation systems and knowledge of the FMVSS. The specialist will manage component and system-level requirements while driving technology roadmaps within the Hydraulics & Electromechanical Components Center of Excellence (COE).

Responsibilities:

Translate vehicle and customer needs into park system functional, durability, safety, and NVH requirementsDefine and maintain technical requirements for hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical componentsLead root-cause analysis for field issues to deliver timely interim and permanent solutions.

Lead design reviews, sign off on engineering drawings, and thoroughly review DFMEAs and DVP&RsCollaborate within the COE to build and maintain technical infrastructure and the long-term technology roadmapAchieve high-quality engineering sign-offs with minimal redesign loopsMinimize the time taken to identify, contain, and permanently fix field issuesDeliver all DFMEA, DVP&R, and drawing approvals according to program timelinesPromote intellectual property identification and developmentCoach, train and mentor less experienced engineers within team

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree fieldA minimum of 8 years of experience in park systems for internal combustion engine, battery electric vehicle applicationsExperience in design and release of the park by wire and park by cable components and systemsUnderstanding of system engineering within automatic transmissions and electric drivesAbility to author system/component level requirementsStrong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teamsAbility to travel to Stellantis assembly plants, supplier manufacturing facilities

Preferred Qualifications:
