Senior engineers provide expert level skill in designing, machining, building, testing, and maintaining complex machinery in the development of medical isotopes. You will work closely with designers, machinists, physicists, other engineers, and technical experts within the department and across the company in the pursuit of transforming the world. What you need to succeed… Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent training/experience); preferred fields of study are: Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering. 5+ years' on-the-job experience with mechanical drawings, prototype design and testing, materials management, product hardware management (integration, markings, tags, user instructions, etc.) Experience with the following: Coordinating cohesive teams to create exceptional customer relationships and deliver remarkable outcomes Guiding teams to complete small to medium sized projects Mentoring team members in mechanical engineering concepts and application Develops and maintains good relationships, gains the confidence of others, and works effectively in a multidisciplinary matrix environment Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization Appreciates the current state of systems and processes and exercises sound judgment in proposing and implementing improvements Understands personal communication and learning styles and adapts approach to connect effectively with others Displays excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Possesses strong organizational and project management skills for self and teams Demonstrates a system-level thinking and integration mindset Great to have… 7+ years' on-the-job experience with mechanical drawings, prototype design and testing, materials management, product hardware management (integration, markings, tags, user instructions, etc.) Hands-on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S).
Proven experience with:
Successful completion of projects and solving mechanical problems General facility design and operations experience (HVAC, cooling tower water systems, mechanical chillers, boilers, building maintenance and building automation, etc.). working with QMS (quality system) processes in regulated industries such as Aerospace/Defense, Medical, or Pharma. Working directly with customers and commercial teams to identify project requirements, write binding statements of work, and other requirements documentation. Working in an NRC regulated manufacturing facility and/or R D environment Other things to know… Full-time position The company's standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts This position will have regular working hours Monday - Friday within the standard operating hours There is an expectation of adjusting working hours outside the standard hours to meet operational requirements Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role Please provide a cover letter specifically describing the nature of your technical expertise.
