DESCRIPTION

DUTIES:

Cooper-Standard Automotive, Inc. seeks an Engineer, Process Advanced in Oscoda, MI. This position requires domestic and international travel, up to 5%, to other C-S manufacturing plants. Extrusion Process Support - 90% Launch of new Extrusion Processes - 10% Utilize disciplined and proven problem-solving techniques to define root cause for equipment downtime and make recommendations for specific process improvements; Champion permanent corrective action (PCA) assignments related to quality, downtime and scrap improvements; Support, contribute and demonstrate lean manufacturing principles in work area; Create and maintain replacement tool inventory including pins, dies, head components, screws, barrels, cones, etc.; Demonstrate working knowledge of policies, procedures and facility standards related to

ISO140001, TS16949

including environmental guidelines; Assist in the design of electrical controls systems for new and existing equipment including control logic, safety, quality and process control monitoring; Perform repairs of circuits and devices such as PLCS's HMI's variable speed motor drives and other equipment in accordance with OSHA standards; Develop new constructions with internal Materials' Group for new applications and improved performance; Facilitate the validation trials, feasibility, design of tests for performance of processed material and tooling/equipment related to the tube extrusion process; Assist with the development of specifications, new tools, processes and training procedures; Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing personnel and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Materials Engineering or in a related occupation.

Experience must include:

Five (5) years experience in thermal plastic extrusion of wet fuel, vapor and thermal control tubing used in the automotive industry; Experience with ETFE, PVDF, EVOH, Nylon, polypropylene, PBT and TPV; and Experience with convoluting of tubing required for fuel vapor and other fluid carrying applications. Alternatively will accept eight (8) years of experience in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Materials Engineering or in a related occupation.

Experience must include:

Eight (8) years experience in thermal plastic extrusion of wet fuel, vapor and thermal control tubing used in the automotive industry; Experience with ETFE, PVDF, EVOH, Nylon, polypropylene, PBT and TPV; and Experience with convoluting of tubing required for fuel vapor and other fluid carrying applications. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Domestic and International travel required, up to 5% to other C-S manufacturing plants.

RATE OF PAY

$99,674 / year If offered employment must have legal right to work in U.S.
