Job Description
Overview Assist the Electrical Engineering department with the design, integration, and testing of electrical systems and wire harness on Cirrus aircraft and/or test benches. Systems include power generation and distribution, and analog circuit design. Responsibilities Responsible for the design, testing, certification, and ongoing engineering support of various aspects of aircraft electrical systems such as power generation and storage, power distribution, wire harness design, etc. Develop and maintain electrical wiring diagrams and harness architecture to meet aircraft system requirements (e.g. functionality, electrical loading, and circuit protection, electromagnetic compatibility, and routing constraints). Design, drafting, and review of electrical equipment assemblies, enclosures, electrical wiring 3D models, part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings for aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including power distribution, RF, and data busses. Selection of electrical components (CCA components, switches, connectors, etc.). Support mechanical and avionics systems with electrical integration details, including circuit design and analysis and electromagnetic effects/radiated field analysis and troubleshooting. Coordinate design development and system integration with subcontractors. Generate certification plans and reports to meet FAR Part 23 requirements. Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Travel requirements estimated at 25% Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerspace, industrial or computer engineering; or a combonation of education and experience may be acceptable. 2-4 years' of direct experience. Aviation or automotive electrical system and wire harness design. Use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition equipment Experience using CREO, Matlab, Eagle, VBA, or similar programs Performing trade studies Reading and writing technical documents, such as design specifications, analysis reports, schematics, test plans, and test reports. Presenting design reviews to peers and management Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization Handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English language Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team Ability to efficiently learn new skills and manage multiple tasks Use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English language Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team Ability to efficiently learn new skills and manage multiple tasks Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) Preferred Master's degree.
