We are currently seeking intern/co-op candidates to learn with us as they engage in a variety of hands-on projects alongside our high-performing and authentic R&D team. Position Summary The Research and Development Engineering Co-op role is aimed at developing the skills of engineers and researchers in the field of medical device development. The goal of the program is to provide a structure where participants are introduced to the equipment, methods, and concepts of interventional cardiology, clinical outcomes, and device design/development. The student will report directly to the Cardiovascular System Engineering group manager and work with the Research Engineering Team on characterization methods, basic technology research, prototype development, and group brainstorming/problem-solving session related to medical devices used by interventional cardiologists and radiologists. Projects may make use of skills including using state-of-the-art test equipment, researching scientific and clinical literature, executing testing, preparing reports, architecting, and prototyping medical devices. Interns will develop knowledge and experience in the following: Medical Device design and development including design inputs, verification, quality documentation System Engineering Concepts International Standards and Regulations Requirement Management Tools Concepts of Data Acquisition Statistical Analysis and Hypothesis Testing.
