Job Description
Company Overview Welcome to StarPet an Indorama Ventures company where we are re-imaging chemistry to create a better world. We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer with one to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment. This person will be expected to have hands-on working experience on compressors, heat exchangers, sealing & lubrication systems, underwater strand granulators, agitator's, chillers, fuel fired furnace heaters, gear boxes / bearings, rotary valves and similar mechanical / process equipment. StarPet is a producer of PET polymers for manufacturing bottles and sheets and specializes in the Performance PET Resins. It is a part of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, which is one of the largest polyester chain producers in the world. The company serves clients in the health care, automotive, textile, food and beverage industries.
Responsibilities:
Conducting Manpower training and development to suit the current needs of the plant; motivating and guiding professional and technical plant personnel on improving production and plant efficiency. Must have a strong ability to coordinating with other upper-level managers of other departments for the repair and maintenance of plant equipment, raw material and inventory control, dispatch and quality control. Planning, installation, and commissioning activities for all the machinery including process machines and utilities. Ensuring trouble free and safe plant start up after completion of commissioning activities. Facility management of building and grounds- responsible for varies projects and vendors Conducting periodic maintenance and breakdown analysis of the rotating equipment in the plant. Requires problem solving, root cause analysis, project coordination and presentation skills. The ability to read and understand vendor technical specifications and documents, complex P&ID's, equipment mechanical drawings, and vendor/consultant analysis. Should be able to work with Process Engineers to understand the priorities required for the proper operation of the plant. Work with site EHS to ensure OSHA regulations and Compliance regulations are fully met. Our expectation of this position is to develop into a leadership role. That will include supervising personnel, performance reviews, assigning tasks and review of completed tasks, and other duties assigned by management. Qualification/Education Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 1 to 2 years of experience in the Chemical Process and manufacturingREQUIREMENTS
- Proficient ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong mathematical skills, problem-solving, analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Management and/or 6S for manufacturing
- Experience with SAP-not a must have Schedule 8 hour shift - 8am-5pm - able to provide needed support during unplanned plant breakdowns Monday to Friday Weekend availability
