Job Description

Work Location 4401 15th ave Job Overview We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team at the Marvin Composites plant in Fargo ND. If you're eager to gain real-world engineering experience and work on meaningful projects, this role is perfect for you! In this internship, you'll work alongside our Mechanical Engineering team to improve and support projects focused on our existing custom equipment, facility improvements, and safety initiatives. You'll get hands-on exposure to mechanical design, troubleshooting equipment, project management and cross-functional collaboration, while building skills that will set you up for success in your career. You'll lead projects from start to finish, from designing with CAD to hands-on fabrication and installation, giving you the chance to make a real impact. You'll be part of a team that values continuous improvement and practical problem-solving. This is a paid internship. It is full-time during the summer and part-time with a flexible schedule during the school year. We're looking for a candidate available to work year-round, balancing their academic schedule and professional growth. Highlights of your role
  • Design, implement, and support installation upgrades to custom-engineered production equipment and throughout the facility
  • Use Creo 3D CAD software for designing, printmaking, 3D printing, and sheet metal fabrication files
  • Work side by side with automation and controls teams to implement projects involving both automated controls and mechanical components
  • Upgrade machine guarding and safety control systems and processes to ensure team member safety
  • Hands-on projects involving your design installation, fabrication, welding, drilling/tapping holes, basic machining, etc. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
  • Strong mechanical proficiency and hands-on skills.
